So my dad and I are back from our great road trip up to Crescent Head. We arrived at Crescent on Tuesday night and were greeted with the point crowded but pumping the following morning. The comp started on the Thursday with average waves. Luckily Dad and I didn't start until the Friday so the waves had a bit of time to clean up. On the Friday I was first up. In my heat was Benji Fodor, Jake Bevan, Fraser Dovell (last years winner) and James Haggerty. Jake, Fraser and I got through. I came 2nd.
In the semi I had Fraser and a few other kids. Once again I came second to Fraser. In the final the waves cleaned up a fair bit so it was easier for noseriding. I caught my best wave first up which locked in a fairly solid score.
The presentation was held that evening. I ended up winning with Fraser 2nd, Hugh Daugard 3rd Jake Bevon 4th and Callum Grove 5th. To top off the great night I also won the Best Noseride award.
The following day there were great waves in the morning and again in the afternoon once the wind had dropped off. The crowd wasn't bad as everyone had gone home. Dad and I postponed leaving by three hours due to the great waves. But then it was time to leave Crescent for another year. Or at least until the National Old Mal Titles in September.
Some of the other results for Victoria were Lee Considine coming 4th in the Over 40's Old Mal, Bob Smith coming 4th in the Over 60's and Sam Suenderman coming 3rd in the Under 18 Girls.
Big thanks to Yestin Griffiths (Ankles Papps) for paying for some of my interstate comps through sales of the Blackgate DVD.
Also thanks to NOTE Surfboards for my log I rode up at Crescent.
Pictures of some of the great sessions we had to follow.

2010 Victorian Tiltles!!!
So the Vic Titles were held on the weekend. It was held at Possoes which I was stoked with because I don't Juc much. There was a nice swell coming through all weekend with offshore NW winds. I entered the Cadets and the Juniors. On the Saturday I had the Junior semi. I came 2nd to Will Cousins.
On the Sunday I had the Junior and Cadet final. The swell had dropped a bit so there was some nice 3 ft sets coming through. It was also lining up a bit better than on the Saturday.First up I had the Cadet final. It was a 25 minute final with a 15 wave, wave limit.I had a real good final. Sooooo happy with it. I ended up winning the Cadet final.
Next was the Juniors. In this Final was Will Cousins, Oscar Lalor, Cole Rush and I. I still surfed well in this one but not as good. I came 3rd with Will coming in 2nd and Oscar 1st.
It was a good weekend. Hope it's at the Poss next year.

Waves, finally.

This morning my Dad and I got up early and hit the Grove. We found some pretty fun waves for the first time in what seems like ages. There were some nice rights peeling off to the right of the stairs. I saw Dad get one smoker of a nose ride that went from out the back all the way into the shore. I hope the good waves keep coming now that we are getting closer to Winter.

Comp on Saturday.
There should be good conditions for the Surfcoast Longboarders comp on Saturday. The forecast is 2 to 3 ft waves with a bit of a wait between sets. There will be Northerly winds going NW then WNW late arvo. It should be a fun day.

Noosa 2010
Dad and I arrived to some sweet waves at Noosa on the Saturday afternoon. It was around 4 ft and barreling. Certainly different from 2009 as it was breaking a lot faster. Dad and I stayed at the Backpackers for the first night which was pretty good. The next morning Dad and I had The Journal Family Challenge. We were against the Cunningham's and the Skips in the first heat. We came second and progressed. In the quarters we were against the Wilson's and the Bullpit's. We came third and didn't progress we still had a lot of fun though. On the Wednesday my Dad competed in the over 40's. He won his heat. In the quarters he got knocked out though. The conditions weren't too good for the quarters. I competed on the Friday. My heat was early in the morning. There were some nice waves coming through. I ended up winning my heat. My Semi was in the aftrernoon. The surf was a bit better with the higher tide. I won my semi too and I was very happy. Last year I came 2nd last in my heat.
Saturday was a good day watching the comp as the noserider and Old mal was on.
My final was on the Sunday. I was really nervouse before the final but I was good once I got under way. My second wave was a 6.75 and I was pretty happy with that. Unfortunatly I couldnt find a second wave and I finished up 2nd. Still stoked with the result though.
So Noosa has come and gone for another year. Can't wait till 2011.
